In this autobiographical graphic novel, nineteen-year-old Japanese American Christine Mari is excited to be studying abroad in Japan, where she lived until she was five years old. Expecting to feel more at home there than she does in America, Christine is sorely disappointed when she doesn't feel Japanese enough and spends her time there working through complex emotions and trying to find acceptance for who she is.
